Hey there! I’m Shanique and the Head Nutritionist in Charge (HNIC) here at Basic Bowl Nutrition.
At Basic Bowl Nutrition the focus is two fold:
- To make the nutrition basics nourishingly simple for you and,
- To help you experience a vibe in every bowl.
What started as a quest to move away from dieting by taking whatever protein, carbs, veggie and fat food sources I had on hand, and throwing them into a bowl in as simple and colorful way as possible (because I eat with my eyes), became a way of daily and healthy sustenance.
I called it the ‘basics in a bowl’ and it made nourishing myself much simpler, a lot less rigid and more sustainable than any diet plan or programs ever did!
This is what I call food harmony.
Adopting a ‘basics in a bowl’ approach allows you to first, observe and second, to honor, all the ways you can fuel and nourish yourself in a healthy way. Not only is each ‘basic bowl’ a vibrant visual of your basic food groups, they also encourage you to explore food in your own way and upgrade meals and snacks from inadequately boring to nourishingly satisfying.
The meal ideas showcased here, while are built on the basics, they are far from boring. I therefore invite you to inject your own vibe in every bowl and fuel both your body and your taste buds. Because life is simply too short to do otherwise!
